We are science and technology services experts and management professionals with deep international experience in the Middle East providing consulting services, program management, and program execution services. Wassel Corporation was established in April 2013 by Dr. Telal (Talal) Wassel as a U.S. California corporation. We provide consulting services, program management, and program execution in a variety of areas, including Military Training and Simulation; Port and Border Security (Air, Land, and Sea); Aviation and Aircraft Engineering; and Energy, including Nuclear Energy and renewables such as Solar and Wind Energy.
Dr. Wassel
Dr. Wassel is the Founder, President and CEO of Wassel Corporation. He is a successful businessman, management consultant, and technical expert who brings extensive experience in technology, defense, and government contracting to Wassel Corporation. Prior to establishing Wassel Corporation Dr. Wassel was a Senior Vice President at Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a Fortune 500 company, which was split in 2013 into SAIC and Leidos, Inc. SAIC was a 45,000 employee strong company in the technology areas of national security, engineering services, system integration, health, energy, environment and other areas of importance to the U.S. and the World.
During his tenure at SAIC and Leidos (1973 to 2013), Dr. Wassel served as a staff scientist, senior scientist, divisions and operations manager, vice president, corporate vice president and Senior Vice President. Dr. Wassel is one of the original fellows at SAIC who helped grow the company from $10 million annual revenue to an $8 billion corporation.
Dr. Wassel was also responsible for SAIC business development and oversight of all SAIC business in Egypt and for business development in the Middle East. Dr. Wassel managed and developed business in training and simulation systems, systems integration, and information technology for military and civilian applications.
He managed the Egyptian Armed Forces Combat Training Center and home stations projects, developed for conducting force-on-force training using weapon engagement simulation hardware and software systems.
Dr. Wassel also managed tactical electronic warfare, war gaming, and security programs. His areas of expertise include training and simulation for military applications, systems integration project management, space satellite and hypersonic aircraft applications, ICBM nuclear missile technology, and nuclear reactor safety and management and renewable energy, including solar, wind and ocean thermal energy conversion.
Dr. Wassel has extensive expertise managing technical personnel and projects. His staff has performed research and development in the fields of energy, thermal and fluid sciences, nuclear pressurized and boiling water reactor safety and severe accident management, supersonic and hypersonic propulsion, combustion technology, information technology, systems integration, live and constructive training and simulation, network operations centers, and war gaming centers.
Dr. Wassel received his Ph.D. and M.Sc. degrees in Engineering and Applied Sciences from the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) and B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Cairo University. He was also a postdoctoral scholar at UCLA.
Dr. Wassel is a senior member of the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA), the American Society of Mechanical Engineering (ASME), the American Nuclear Society (ANS) and the American/International Society of Automotive Engineering. He has over 140 publications in the open literature.
